Social Action

The Temple Sinai Social Action Committee believes in the Jewish value of Tikun Olam, repairing the world, within our congregation and the greater community. We envision a society that cares for all of its members.

This is achieved by developing opportunities for the Congregation to engage on issues related to social action, community improvement and community support. The Committee also identifies, coordinates and supports activities that align with the social action needs of the Congregation and the greater community.

Chesed/Shiva Committee

The program consists of visiting congregants in long term care facilities, shut-ins and individuals in assisted living communities, on a weekly basis. Also, the committee tries to provide transportation to Friday Kabbalat Shabbat Services for those individuals that cannot drive in the evening, by asking a congregant in their neighborhood that may be attending services, to lend a helping hand.

If you have an interest in becoming involved in a Social Action activity or project, or if you have questions, please provide your email or other contact information to Judy Monetathchi at jlmonetathchi@yahoo.com.
