Our Jewish Community

Ask people what they yearn for most, and invariably you will hear the same answers, to feel close to their loved ones; to rear healthy, happy and productive children; to have meaningful, lifelong friendships; to be productive with work; to leave the world a better place; and to be part of a community, of something larger than themselves.

Welcome to Temple Sinai, a synagogue that practices the principles of Reform Judaism. Temple Sinai offers an exceptional, one-of-a-kind place of worship, assembly, study and celebration. For four decades, we have provided an atmosphere of warmth, inclusion and kindness. A Temple that embraces members and guests alike, providing a safe haven and a vibrant venue for Jewish religious, educational, cultural, and social programs.

Temple Sinai has regular Shabbat and Holiday services, an innovative and growing religious school for kindergarten through 10th grade, a compelling adult education program, and active ancillary groups, such as Women of Sinai and Brotherhood, our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), and dynamic programs such as our popular Teen Academy and social groups.

Whether you seek the excitement of social gatherings, music and meeting people, the quiet solitude of private worship, or the guidance to navigate ritual and meaningful lifecycle events, you will find it at Temple Sinai. Both communal worship and private prayer are a key part of Temple Sinai life. Our clergy and staff provide the resources to discover and cultivate a deep and profound understanding of Torah, Judaism, Israel, and your own personal spiritual journey.

Temple Sinai is a place that not only connects you to your Judaism, but also to the community where families forge lifelong relationships, children grow up together, b’nai mitzvahs and weddings are celebrated, the inevitable grief of loss is shared, and everyone has the opportunity to honor Jewish traditions and heritage. People newly relocated to the desert reach out to Temple Sinai, a synagogue that offers support, education and a social outlet.

Singular in its essence and personality, expansive in its numerous educational and enrichment offerings, Temple Sinai seeks to increase awareness and an appreciation for Jewish values as well as the State of Israel. While our home is in the Coachella Valley, we are connected to communities around the world and especially Israel. We are committed to fostering the strong bond we have with Israel as we increase visibility and take action to overcome the many challenges it faces.

As a core value of Judaism, we uphold and practice social action (Tikkun Olam). Be it a high profile fundraiser or a small gesture of giving, always we endeavor to bring people together to create lasting change. Opportunities to make the world a better place surrounds us. We have weekly food deliveries serving those in need (who practice any faith), a High Holy Days Food Collection Drive, adult and young peoples’ fundraising activities and our annual community-wide Mitzvah Day. Boundless possibilities to repair the world await our good deeds. Temple Sinai is more than a synagogue, it is a way of life, a social and moral compass, a home.

Join us. After all, you are the one we have been waiting for.
