Rabbi

Avi Levine

Rabbi Levine began his duties, as our Rabbi, on October 16th and conducted Consecration Services on Friday Night, October 20.

Rabbi Levine came to the attention of The Interim Search Committee as a result of recommendations from five different Rabbis and we are pleased that Rabbi Levine was able to join us so quickly. We will plan some “Meet the Rabbi” opportunities over the next few weeks, as soon as Rabbi Levine, his wife Linda, who is an attorney, complete their move to Palm Desert. .

Rabbi Levine comes to us with more than eighteen years as the Rabbi of Temple Beth El in Berkeley, followed by nine years service as the Rabbi at Temple Beth Israel in Pomona. Rabbi Levine retired from that position and served most recently as an interim Rabbi at Temple Beth Tikvah, in Roswell Ga.

The Levine’s are parents of three grown children, Yael, Tal, and Tamar.

Cantor

Beth Garden has served Temple Sinai for seven years.  In addition to her cantorial services to the congregation, Cantor Garden is also Co-president of the Jewish Community School of the Desert and is actively involved in the mid-valley Interfaith Council
